a few random things about me...

I’m a hiking, baking, book reading, Joni Mitchell listening, nature lovin' mama of two young kids, some chickens, a cat, a big red Dobie, and the weirdest french bulldog you'll ever meet. I'm an INFJ and I guess you could call me an extraverted introvert...if that's a thing. What I mean is, I'm outgoing, but reserved, I'm friendly, but shy and self concious, I love socializing, but honestly, it kinda wears me out.

. . .

Originally from western Montana, I now call New Mexico home. And as a gal who can never decide if she loves the desert or the mountains more – this is a pretty perfect place for me to put down roots and raise a family. I met my husband when I was just a teenager and it blows my mind that we'll soon be celebrating 20 years together!! After some time in Montana, the Midwest, Albuquerque and Santa Fe, we recently moved out to Pecos, NM, where we bought a big, old farm house. We've loved all our homes over the years, but this one feels extra special because it's rural and quiet and there's room to grow a big vegetable garden and raise gobs of chickens and it gives my kids a lot of unstructured free time outdoors.

. . .

I had a very free-range childhood, growing up in rural Montana, where I spent countless hours exploring in the woods, riding horses, doing chores, and building forts with my brother. Later, I went to school in Missoula and graduated with a degree in history and women's studies. If I wasn't busy raising kids and dogs and taking photos, I think I might like to open a combo bakery/bookshop, become a home-birth midwife, or simply shelve books, quietly, at the library.

. . .

I tend to over-plan and bite my nails when I'm bored or stressed. My kitchenaid mixer and stovetop are always a mess, no matter how clean the rest of my house is. I turn into a grump after 8 o'clock, but I also like to wake up very early to drink a cup (or three, ha) of tea, cuddle the cat, and read a bit before everyone else wakes up. I basically live in jeans and my worn out birks and kinda hate doing my hair and makeup.

. . .

Original hardwood floors, flowering cacti, the movie When Harry Met Sally, monsoon season in New Mexico, exploring the forest with my kids, hanging at breweries with my husband, and making waffles on Sunday mornings are all my favs. And I'll leave you with a few things I'm always interested in hearing about - what books you're currently reading, what your birth experience was like, and where you went the last time you traveled.

please be advised...i am NOT SCHEDULING BIRTH, FRESH-48 OR WEDDINGS AT THIS TIME. I AM only taking portrait sessions THROUGH THE END OF 2023. THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING!
